Beautiful West Coast National Park

Less than 1.5 hours north-west of Cape Town, on the Langebaan lagoon, you will find this extensive park, which you can drive through by car or by bike.
Thousands of seabirds can be spotted here, but you can also see antelopes and ostriches in the wild. The park itself contains hundreds of species of plants and in the park there is the Geelbek restaurant where there is an information center where “Eve’s Footprint” can also be viewed. This young woman must have lived there some 117,000 years ago. “Eve’s trail” is a 30 km long walking tour that goes through the area fully catered with food and drinks in the traces of Eve.
The flowers and plants are at their best in August and September.
In addition to walking and cycling routes, you can go kayaking, watch whales in August and September, spot hundreds of birds or have a picnic or braai in specially designed areas.

During the spring the strandveld is embroidered with a tapestry of multi-hued flowers, while in the Postberg section many antelope are to be seen in a setting that is as unique as it is idyllic..

Just a littble bit more than an hour drive from Cape Town to Langebaan. The 40,000 ha West Coast National Park provides a safe haven for thousands of seabirds, who roost on the sheltered islands and pristine golden beaches.

Guided historical walking tours give you the opportunity to discover the history of this landmark destination, where cultures blended with those of the Malay slaves and sailors from every corner of the globe to form the cosmopolitan tapestry that makes up modern-day Cape Town.
